It’s All About Great Food and Lively Atmosphere at Miller’s Ale House in Palm Beach Gardens

The PB Girls Dine team is a huge fan of Miller’s Ale House in Palm Beach Gardens. On a recent Thursday evening, we stopped by for an early dinner, and also enjoyed the added perk of being there during Happy Hour. (A 6 oz. glass of the house Pinot Grigio was only $3.00!)

The sport grille’s menu is excellent. Miller’s is known for their “Original Zingers” (the famous buttermilk-drenched, hand-breaded, boneless chicken tenders) they’ve featured for over 30 years. There is a plethora of sauces from which to choose, or create your own sauce combo.

From flatbreads to potstickers to calamari and even warm Bavarian pretzels, you find plenty of tempting appetizers to enhance your drink of choice. Enjoy grilled steaks, mahi mahi sandwiches, burgers, ribs and more. The chef is a superstar!

Miller’s Ale House’s menu posts calorie counts, offers vegetarian selections and updates the menu with new seasonal items.

Make a note! Wednesday evening is Trivia Night. It’s a fun experience so bring the family or friends for this enjoyable night out.

Save room for the Ghirardelli chocolate brownie sundae.

Tokyo Peking on PGA Blvd . . . Best Chinese and Best Japanese Food in Town

Tokyo PekingLast night, PB Girls Dine had the pleasure of dining at Tokyo Peking Restaurant nestled in the Mirasol Walk Shopping Plaza. This neighborhood gem has the best Chinese and best Japanese food in Palm Beach Gardens . . . AND Palm Beach County! You can eat at the restaurant or order delivery in the area. Either way, be prepared for an excellent dining experience!

We ordered their ever-famous egg drop soup last evening. It arrived so beautifully presented in a bright red bowl — piping hot and so very delicious. It truly is the best we’ve ever had. You should also try their miso soup, hot and sour soup and wonton soup. PB Girls Dine can attest that they are very good.

For appetizers, we recommend the shrimp egg rolls, one of our favorites, and the steamed dumplings, beef on a stick, and Pu Pu Platter if you are with a group! Tokyo Peking even has fried donuts as a menu appetizer that we really want to try!

The restaurant offers a daily special menu so check that out with each visit.

And now for the main event! We are enchanted with the shrimp with lobster sauce and had it again last night and also with take-out this week! There are several delish seafood entrees — from Szechuan, Mongolian and Hunan to curry, black bean sauce and cashew. Ditto for the beef, chicken and pork dishes. No worries if you’re a vegan, tofu lover or on a diet. Tokyo Peking has it all!

Japanese cuisine is perfectly prepared from roll and hand roll, Nigiri combo plates, sushi and sashimi to delightful tempura dishes. Even party platers are available!

Owner Amy is lovely and has an excellent staff of the most accommodating servers. It’s always a pleasure to dine in and be warmly greeted . . . you will be, too.

As you can see, PB Girls Dine rates Tokyo Peking a five-start Chinese and Japanese restaurant that we don’t want you to miss!

The Woods . . . A Dining Experience for a Champion

On a beautiful afternoon in September, PB Girls Dine left the golf skirts home, and headed over to Harbourside in Jupiter to lunch at The Woods Jupiter. (We didn’t have a reservation, but note that you can now book your luncheon reservations for this fabulous restaurant on OpenTable!)

Either valet park or grab a parking space in the multi-level lot. Enter The Woods and take in the stunning decor and inviting setting. PB Girls Dine was escorted to a lovely curtained booth, and had service extraordinaire.

To begin, the Chardonnay was simply delicious, and we checked out their exquisite Reserve List. The specialty cocktail menu look wonderful, and we’ll be sampling a Cucumber Smash on our next visit!

We ordered The Woods House Salad — arugula, hearts of romaine, frisée, radicchio, spinach, smoked bacon, grilled corn, carrots, chopped eggs, garlic Parmesan croutons tossed with honey balsamic dressing. It was simply delicious!

And, for dessert . . . we recommend the S’Mores Casserole or The Woods Cotton Candy. After all, YOLO!

At check-time, your score card will arrive at your table. Your first thought will be, “When can we come back?”

By the way, we have to mention Happy Hour at The Woods. From 4-6pm and 10pm-close, you can enjoy a delightful drink and snack menu and plenty of good friends!

Tiger Woods has created a truly vibrant, upscale dining experience here in Harbourside with The Woods. Thank you, Tiger!

The Pelican Café . . . Fabulous Italian Dining with a Hint of Nantucket

pelican-cafe-restaurant-in-lake-parkPB Girls Dine enjoyed a delightful lunch at Pelican Café on US Highway 1 in Lake Park. It was our first visit to the restaurant, and spectacular, five-star and simply wonderful are the adjectives that immediately come to mind! We are already planning our next visit!

We chose to eat inside rather than on the patio, and were escorted to our table by a charming hostess. Pristine white tablecloths with nautical navy napkins and stunning paintings on wainscoted walls brought back cherished memories of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard. We love the restaurant’s slogan: “Where Nantucket Meets the Florida Keys.”

A winner of TripAdvisor’s 2015-2018 Certificate of Excellence, this stellar restaurant was founded in 2008 by Chef Mark Francine and Karen Howe, formerly of Greenwich, Connecticut – and PB Girls Dine’s former stomping grounds, too!

Pelican Cafe is located just across US Highway 1 from Kelsey Park. Built in the 1930’s, the restaurant was the former guest house of Boston entrepreneur Harry Seymour Kelsey (1879 -1957), one of the largest land owners in Palm Beach County back in the 1900’s.

The wait staff was delightful, and Megan was our waitress. We began our meal with an excellent Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc . . . very crisp and a perfect afternoon white wine.

For lunch, we thoroughly enjoyed a homemade stracciatella soup . . . and definitely the finest we’ve ever tasted! (Did you know “stracciatella” comes from the Italian word for “torn apart?” This refers to the little shreds of cooked egg in the broth.)

The Italian chopped salad and Margherita pizza with marinara sauce, mozzarella and basil, were excellent.

And then it was time for dessert . . . a splendid event featuring a huge slice of to-die-for pineapple upside down cake. Heavenly!

Open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch and drinks, you can enjoy live music every Monday night from 6:30-9:30pm with Dawn Marie and Giovanni Fazio!

Please note: Pelican Cafe’s homemade donuts have a reputation of being the very best in town. Be sure to inquire when you are seated!

PB Girls Dine highly recommends a visit to Pelican Cafe, and we promise you’ll be rewarded with a first class dining experience.

Suzi Q’s Hometown Diner . . . The Best Way to Start Your Day

The PB Girls Dine team made a major discovery this afternoon, and it’s Suzi Q’s Hometown Diner in Jupiter. Grab your car keys and appetite, and head over to our new favorite find! You’ll enjoy a blast from the past at this 50’s-style diner with a heavenly breakfast and lunch menu.

We arrived at noon and watched the tables fill up quickly. Prepare yourself for some of the best coffee in PB County! Our ravenous team sampled the Fancy French Toast, Eggs Easy Over and Bowl of Oatmeal.

Here’s our biggest secret . . . the Bacon Waffles are beyond-description good! They’re the ideal comfort food and addictive!

Open seven days a week, Suzi Q’s has takeout that’s super fast and efficient. Our server Penny was lovely. You’ll want to plan a Saturday visit when the hash is made from scratch.

Add this adorable diner with excellent food to your “To Visit List” of Jupiter restaurants!
